Police Scotland were asked for any reported and documented incidents of harassment, intimidation or public disorder associated with pro-life prayer or vigil groups near Edinburgh’s Chalmers clinic between 1 September 2022 and 28 February 2023

In response, The Police carried out a keyword search for incidents mentioning “protest”, “abortion”, “vigil”, “pro-life” and “prolife.” Police Scotland reported 4 incidents which are shown below in Freedom of Information response IM-FOI 23-0892 dated 28 April 2023.

In response to a follow up question Police Scotland stated that, in the incident recorded on 3 October 2023, the term hate crime “is the call handler’s notation and the incident was not ongoing at the time of reporting”
